IBPA Marketing Programs eligibility. Prices vary and are additional.

Through our membership in the Independent Book Publishers Association [IBPA], Madison Avenue Publishing offers innovative IBPA Marketing Programs to its authors who purchase the Author eBook & Print AuthorServicePaK™, or who purchase a proofread edit (as a minimum).

The IBPA programs are as follows:

Library Market E-Blast $199.00 per title per mailing

Present your title(s) alongside only 14 others in a special e-blast to 5,000 qualified collection development librarians.

Three options to choose from: Public Library, K-12 Library, and College Library.

New for 2014, IBPA has launched an exciting new way to reach the library market. In cooperation with The Library Resource Group, an opt-in database of over 80,000+ library decision-makers, IBPA will send dedicated e-blasts containing IBPA member titles to a select group of 5,000 librarians for each of the Public Library, K-12 Library, and College Library markets.

How it works:

Twelve times a year (six Public Library e-blasts; three K-12 Library e-blasts; three College Library e-blasts) IBPA will design a targeted e-blast containing information about IBPA member titles. Each e-blast will contain only 15 titles.

Your listing will include your title’s cover image, a 50-word description, our wholesaler information[Ingram], and a unique, lead-generating link of your choosing. IBPA will choose a list of 5,000 librarians for each e-blast based on those with the highest budgets and buying potential.

What to expect:

Results will vary. However, the average response to e-blasts of this nature is generally higher than other services and products sent to librarians. Response to these e-blasts generally range from 7-14%. For a deployment to 5,000 names, there will be approximately 400-700 leads across all titles.

  • Best case: Many librarians review your information and order your title(s).
  • Average case: Several librarians review your information and order your title(s).
  • Worst case: Exposure to the library market.

IBPA designs four-color catalogs featuring a front cover picture of your book, along with a 100-word description. Also included are ISBN, price, a maximum of three distributors/wholesalers, and Madison Avenue Publishing’s name and address (which is not included as part of the 100-word description). All descriptive paragraphs will be edited to meet the 100-word requirement.

Cooperative Catalog: BOOKS FOR REVIEW (2014) $210.00 per title per mailing

Books for Review:

Currently mailed quarterly (January, April, July, and October) to approximately 3,000 book reviewers at newspapers, magazines, websites, blogs, radio and television shows. Bounce-back cards are included in this mailing for reviewer to request specific title(s). Names, addresses and phone numbers of requesting reviewer is forwarded to Madison Avenue Publishing. Program mails 3rd class and each participant receives a copy first class.

Cooperative Catalog: BOOKSTORE (2014) $350.00 per title per mailing

Bookstore:

Introduce your book(s) to 3,500 chain and independent bookstore buyers! $350.00 per title per mailing

The Bookstore Cooperative Catalog is currently mailed quarterly (January, April, July, and October) to approximately 3,500 chain and independent booksellers across the U.S. Mailing list is purchased from DM2. Orders will be sent to Ingram, our wholesaler.

Within the four-color catalog, the front cover of your book will be featured, along with a 100-word description. Also featured are ISBN, price, our wholesaler, Ingram, and Madison Avenue Publishing. All descriptive paragraphs will be edited to meet the 100-word requirement.

Reach the right buyers and reviewers with IBPA’s Target Marketing Catalogs

The Target Marketing Cooperative Catalogs are currently mailed four times per year to genre-specific reviewers (approx. 3,000) and booksellers (approx. 3,400). Bounce-back cards are included in each mailing for reviewers to request specific title(s). The names, addresses, and phone numbers of requesting reviewers are forwarded to Madison Avenue Publishing. Most orders will come through Ingram, our wholesaler.

  5. Book’s suggested genre.
  6. Our address as your publisher
  7. Author Website or email address.
